Elizabeth Cameron Dalman has frequently been described as the high priestess of Australian dance.  She founded the Australian Dance Theatre and was was artistic director for ten years and is currently Director of Mirramu Creative Centre as well as the Artistic Director of Mirramu Dance Company and the Festival of Lake George Inc.

Elizabeth studied dance and performed in Europe, London and New York and took on the conservative forces of 1960s Australia to bring the modern art form to our young dancers.

She is a driven, passionate woman who has been committed to human rights, reconciliation and gender equality from the outset.  Never one to waiver in her determination in achieving her goals, she confronted discrimination head on and broke the boundaries of the mainstream arts community.  Being brought up in a very patriarchal time, she pushed for her freedoms as a woman.

She has had led, and continues to lead, an amazing life – still directing, performing and teaching dance in both Australia and overseas at the age of 85.

This luncheon will see host Marianne van Dorslar engage in an intimate conversation with Elizabeth, covering her thoughts and life experiences on topics such as:-

  • Discovering your purpose in life
  • The benefits of a life filled with creativity
  • Being an original disruptor
  • Embracing the ageing process
  • The relevance and importance of The Arts in our society

Let her wisdom transform your outlook.
